  • In February 1979, Chiang Kai-shek (CKS) International Airport officially commenced operations, and the air cargo terminal was relocated from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) to CKS.


  • In 1997, the Executive Yuan approved the plan to develop Taiwan into an Asia-Pacific Regional Operations Center, confirming the privatization of the air cargo terminal.


  • In September 1999, the “China Airlines Corporate Alliance”, which offering competitive advantages to the government, was granted the franchise rights to operate the air cargo terminal after three years of preparation.


  • In December 1999, Taiwan Air Cargo Terminal (TACT) was established, taking over the cargo terminal at Taoyuan (TPE) International Airport and the cargo terminal at Kaohsiung (KHH) International Airport. It became the only operator managing cargo terminals in both north and south Taiwan, and officially commenced operations on January 16, 2000.


  • In December 2002, TACT initiated an expansion and renovation project at its original site, aiming to establish a modern, fully automated cargo handling system, and to become the largest and most advanced air cargo terminal in Taiwan.


  • In July 2013, Taoyuan International Airport Corporation approved TACT’s franchise extension at TPE, effective from January 16, 2020, to January 15, 2030.


  • In July 2015, the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) approved TACT’s franchise extension at KHH, effective from January 16, 2020, to January 15, 2030.


 


 
  • Since 2005 to present, TACT has been honored to serve as the designated warehousing service provider for the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) projects, including Formosa Satellite-3, Formosa Satellite-5 (2017), Formosa Satellite-7 (2019), and the TRITON satellite (2023), successfully completing each mission with professional and extensive warehousing expertise


  • In July 2006, China Airlines operated the first cross-strait freight charter flight, with TACT providing warehousing services. The direct flight from TPE to PVG offers a more convenient and faster service compared with previous shipments that required transit through a third location.


  • In May 2008, following the devastating earthquake in Sichuan, China Airlines voluntarily transported relief supplies prepared by the Red Cross Society of Taiwan and the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation to Sichuan at no cost. As members of the CI Group, TACT, TASCO, and TIAS also provided complimentary warehousing and ground handling services, demonstrating the Group’s commitment to humanitarian support.


  • Since October 2010, in line with the government’s policy promoting the Northeast Asia Golden Aviation Circle and airlines’ belly load planning at Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), TACT established a designated TSA transit cargo area at Taoyuan (TPE) to facilitate cargo circulation, expand cargo sources, and increase potential revenue.


  • In April 2017, TACT started to handle the cargo document handling service for customer airlines contracted by China Airline, expanding business scope and enhancing service quality. In 2023, TACT also took on cargo handling services for airlines contracted by Tigerair Taiwan, further expanding our operation scope.


  • In April 2020, during the global COVID-19 pandemic, China Airlines and TACT successfully participated in the “Taiwan Can Help” initiative, facilitating the donation of nearly 10 million masks from Taiwan to countries in Europe and North America.


  • In May 2020, due to the severe impact of COVID-19 on Taiwan’s flower exports, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) partnered with China Airlines to operate Bccp service to Japan. TACT provided warehousing services for the outbound flowers, supporting flower growers in exporting their products, stabilizing domestic flower sales and growers’ incomes.


  • In May 2021, during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the first 150,000 doses of Moderna vaccines were transported to Taiwan by China Airlines. TACT fully coordinated with authorities to manage the import and warehousing process, successfully ensuring the vaccines were safely delivered to the government. Till now, TACT continues to provide professional warehousing services for vaccine imports.


  • In June 2021, medical ‘negative-pressure isolation units’ donated by Japan were transported to Taiwan by China Airlines. TACT fully collaborated with relevant authorities to manage the special import operation, ensuring all equipment was safely delivered to the government. We also sincerely acknowledges the support provided by the Japanese government.


  • In 2022, in line with China Airlines’ value chain environmental management, TACT issued “Environmental and Energy Policy Statement,” establishing four guiding principles—complying with environmental laws and regulations, conservation the Earth’s resources, improving eco-efficiency, and fulfilling social responsibility—to promote eco-friendly, low-carbon, and sustainable development.


  • In 2023 & 2024, TACT been granted the “ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse Gas Statement Assurance Report” from KPMG Taiwan (2023) and from DNV (2024), supporting the company’s carbon reduction strategies and carbon neutrality goals, while enhancing internal management, operational efficiency, and ESG competitiveness for sustainable development.


  • In 2025, TACT introduced digitalization of export cargo acceptance operations to enhance efficiency and data accuracy. Starting from August, EDI testing was launched immediately after GCI completion, further improving electronic processes and saving time for both customers and the company.

  To cooperate with the business strategy by China Airlines, since April 2017 Taiwan Air Cargo Terminal, known as TACT, started to handle the cargo document handling service for customer airlines contracted by China Airline. In June 2024 TACT won the cargo contract from the Delta Air Lines and with this win, TACT now has launched to provide documentation handling service at its Seattle destination. Our main service scope of handling are preparing, delivering &receiving export and import cargo manifest and cargo pouch for schedule and non-schedule passenger flights & freighters at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, EDI message transmission, accepting dangerous goods & verifying requirements regulated by IATA DGR, and irregularity handling.

Presently our handling airlines include Air China(CA passenger flights), China Cargo Airlines(CK), China Eastern Airlines(MU), China Postal Airlines(CF), China Southern Airlines(CZ), Delta Air Lines(DL), Greater Bay Airlines,(HB), Hainan Airlines(HU), Hebei Airlines(NS), Jin Air(LJ), Korean Air(KE), Malaysia Airlines(MH),Philippines Airlines(PR), Royal Brunei Airlines(BI), Shandong Airlines(SC), Shenzhen Airlines(ZH), Sichuan Airlines(3U),Tiger Air Taiwan(IT), T'way Air(TW), Vietnam Airlines(VN), VietJet Air(VJ), Xiamen Airlines(MF). And now we provided our cargo document handling service which comply with airlines flight plan as usual for around fifty flights per day. We also attempt to advance the operation quality continuously and are looking forward to providing the best service to the most valued customer airlines in the near future.

 


  The IT Care Task Force established in 2005 has performed the safe, professional, and fast services and also won the achievement of customer admiration. From December 2006, we expand the service in some special general cargo called as VIC (Very Important Cargo). The advantages of the task force are as follows:

  For developing Taiwan to Asia-pacific region operation center (APROC), TACT draws up the “Extension and Renovation Project for Taiwan Air Cargo Terminal at TPE & KHH International Airport” to promote the ultimate annual handling capacity to more than 980,000 Tons and 210,000 Tons respectively.
